History
Five Scout truck owners in the Houston, Texas area gathered in
October, 1990 to form the SCOUT OWNERS OF TEXAS, a not-for-profit club
of International Harvester vehicle owners and their families. We
extend membership to owners of all I. H. vehicles or those who are
just interested in great old trucks.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help preserve International light line vehicles
proudly made in the USA, so promote safe and responsible off-roading
using Tread Lightly philosophies but most importantly we promote fun.
Affiliations
We have associate members throughout the United States and in
Canada, Mexico, Australia, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Our local club
also supports the national organization, The Scout and International
Motor Truck Association, that is headquartered in Indiana.
Meetings
Our club meetings are held on the even months of the year so that
we can get acquainted with each other, share technical information,
encourage those that are restoring their vehicles, and direct owners
to the many parts suppliers.
Membership
Membership in the Houston metropolitan area is $20.00 the first
year and $15.00 a year thereafter. Anyone outside our general area can
become an associate member for $15.00 a year. If you would like to
know more about our activities, give us a call or send inquiries to
the following street or e-mail address. If you'd like to join our
club, please mail a check or money order made payable to SCOUT OWNERS
OF TEXAS.
